Cirkör is a NGO

Cirkus Cirkör is a group consisting of an NGO that owns an incorporated company. The NGO was founded in 1995 to establish contemporary circus in Sweden, artistically and educationally, as well as to put Sweden on the world map of contemporary circus. You can read more about Cirkör's history here.

Cirkus Cirkör NGO conducts courses, training and education. The NGO owns Cirkör AB, which produces performances and events. All profits are reinvested in the NGO.

The Board

Cirkus Cirkör NGO's board includes people whose collective experience and knowledge are important for the development and leadership of Cirkus Cirkör. The members have experience, knowledge and contact networks in politics, journalism, artistic creation and development, circus, musical production, law, economics and the international cultural sector. In addition, they are passionate about contemporary circus and culture's place in society.

The board is appointed annually in connection with the NGO's annual meeting.

Membership

The NGO's members consist of course participants, students and employees. A membership costs 50 SEK and is required to, e.g. be able to attend the courses in Alby and train at the drop-in.
