Biography

Born in Verbania on June 20, 1996, Pietro Barilli embarked on his journey in contemporary circus and theatre in 2017 by enrolling at CAU - Escuela Internacional de Circo y Teatro in Granada. He is now a professional slackline artist and a member of the Raed Slacklines team.

After completing his training at CAU, Pietro participated in the CUPULA festival in Arcozelo (PT), winning the creativity award and making contact with the Istituto Nacional de Artes do Circo INAC. In 2019, he was invited to join the final year of INAC training in Famalicão, Portugal, where he presented the show "Quieto Parado," opening doors to the Brà project - Vo! Italian Circus on the Move. Thanks to this project, he had the opportunity to develop his work through an artistic residency at the international center UP - Circus & Performing Arts, guided by artistic directors Fabiana Ruiz Diaz and Giacomo Costantini of the Circo El Grito company. Throughout the years, he collaborated with the INAC Institute as a creative interpreter, first for the "Jardins" show and subsequently with the contemporary circus company UM POR 1 for the "Variações" show.

In 2022, he relocated to Brussels, where he presented his solo show "Quieto Parado" multiple times and directed and performed the show "Chao Fabriek" at the cultural space Piano Fabriek.

Recently, he collaborated with Cirk La Putika at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and he's set to begin a new creative endeavour in collaboration with the Italian company Circo El Grito in February.
