- Course Content- The course focuses on further training in your chosen primary discipline and basic training in other circus disciplines, such as acrobatics, trampoline, tightrope walking, handstands, juggling and aerial acrobatics. The goal of the course is that you will create and perform a solo act. We also work with strength and stretch, rigging and safety, dance, improvisation and artistic creation. Other creative classes may also be offered, such as theatre and clowning. It is possible, to some extent, to select the course content based on your prior knowledge and interests. - In the creative process of developing your solo act, you will receive support from a professional circus artist. You also have the option to delve into circus pedagogy. - Scope- The course is one semester long and runs part-time, with approximately half of the classes being teacher-led. The classes are primarily held during the day on weekdays, although the schedule varies throughout the semester. The course includes teacher-led classes with our Cirkusgymnasiet students, separate classes in the Prep group, and some individual classes. - The course includes a large proportion of independent training, where you take responsibility for practising and developing what you learn in the classes. You will receive a personalised training plan from our strength and conditioning teacher.
- After Cirkör Prep- Cirkör Prep is primarily designed for individuals who aspire to pursue higher education in circus or further develop their artistry. You must attend the teacher-led classes at least 80% of the time and perform a solo act to pass the course. After completing the course, you will receive a certificate and a personal letter for reference in future applications. - If you want to study for another term, it may be possible to adjust the course content so that an extension feels rewarding. - Application- Cirkör Prep is suitable for those already training circus and wanting to go all in. You need to be used to physical training and motivated to develop, whether you aim for higher education, a professional future as an artist, or want to spend a challenging six months in the circus hall. - Cirkör Prep has a limited number of places. Admission is based on how well we assess that the course will suit you, your conditions, and your needs. You can apply by filling out the form using the link below. We will ask you to share a video introducing yourself and showing what you can do. - Would you like to visit here before applying? Get in touch!
