Cirkus Cirkör was started in 1995 and is the most prominent circus company in the Nordics today. Our umbrella covers performances on tour in Sweden and the world, courses and educational programs for all ages, an upper secondary school for circus, business events and many, many collaboration projects.

Cirkus Cirkör is an idea of how to use the arts to influence, develop and change the world. With curiosity, humour and courage, we explore the diversity and limits of the circus arts. Cirkus Cirkör is a platform where different artistic practices flourish and surprise. We collaborate with many and use the circus as a method to lift and inspire humans. We bring contemporary circus into the future.

We are a group consisting of a non-profit association and a limited company – Cirkör AB.

Do you want to change the world with circus?

We seek a versatile and driven producer to help realise Cirkus Cirkör’s artistic projects, tours, and events. You will take on a key role in coordination, project management, and administration – ensuring that the right practical and organisational structures support the artistic work.

The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners and may include touring management nationally and internationally. In our organisation, you can take on responsibility, contribute to development, and grow within a dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:

  • Planning and coordinating artistic productions, events, and tours.
  • Managing budgets, schedules, logistics, and documentation.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with artists, presenters, and partners.
  • Overseeing staff, contracts, and practical production matters during creation and touring.
  • Contributing to budget planning, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Handling legal, employment, tax, and insurance matters.
  • Managing travel and accommodation arrangements for artists and crew.
  • Collecting audience data and conducting post-tour evaluations.

Who are you?

Education

Ideally, completed studies in cultural or performing arts management, cultural administration, production management, or a related field such as business administration or project management. Relevant certifications or licenses in arts management, event production, or leadership are considered a strong advantage.

We will also consider autodidacts who can demonstrate equivalent experience.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • 3+ years in performing arts production, preferably including international touring.
  • Proven track record in planning, coordinating, and executing cultural or artistic productions.
  • Proven skills in budgeting, scheduling, coordination, and reporting.
  • Solid administrative and documentation skills.

Meritorious (Preferred)

  • Previous experience in circus arts or the multidisciplinary performance sector.
  • Knowledge of international cultural policy and funding landscapes.
  • Familiarity with Swedish labor laws and touring regulations.
  • Experience in sales and client relations within the performing arts sector.

Language Skills

  • Required Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Swedish and additional languages relevant to international touring (e.g., French, Spanish, or an Asian language).

About the position  

Scope: 1-year fixed-term employment at 100% with the possibility of extension.

Working hours: Flexible/irregular hours.

Start date: August or September 2025.

Location: Cirkus Cirkör is based at Subtopia in Alby, but the role also involves travel within Sweden and internationally.

Contract: We adhere to the collective agreement Upplevelse och Kultur under the Swedish Employers’ Alliance (Arbetsgivaralliansen).

Other: A category B driving licence is an asset.
