A circus flying over the city
We wanted to create something big and spectacular. An idea was born to move the entire festival into the air. The idea felt impossible but was difficult to let go of. So, we called Cirkus Cirkör. Philippa Staffas, Creative Director of Stockholms Kulturfestival

Aquanauts was born out of a unique collaboration between artistic swimmers and contemporary circus artists, who created a site-specific show performed in water, air and fire.

Cirkus Cirkör has created performances in the air, underwater, in office landscapes, on building facades, in art galleries and on closed industrial sites. We have hung beneath bridges, taken over schoolyards and engaged the audience as co-creators. Get in touch!
