Discipline – Cyr wheel
What is cyr wheel?
Cyr wheel is a discipline that belongs to the category of acrobatics. The apparatus is a ring made of aluminium or steel. The size is adjusted to the performer, who should be able to stand and stretch out their arms and legs in the ring. The performer rolls around in it gyroscopically (around themselves, in all directions). The movements are performed inside and outside the ring with acrobatics and choreography, creating a sense of weightlessness. Usually, there is one performer per ring, but there are duos who skillfully use a ring together.
