University of Dance and Circus

The Degree Course at the University College of Dance is a three year programme with 16 students albeit with course admissions conducted only on the basis of an intake scheduled for every second year. The University College of Dance maintain a high standard with regard to teaching and the maintenance of an internationally recognizable perspective within the parametres of the Degree Course. The teaching is characterized by pedagogic and artistic creativity and embrace all necessary theatrical subjects including dance, theatre, music, acrobatics and circus. Students are provided with the opportunity to gain a thorough educational grounding for life as a professional circus artist or circus teacher.

The education programme is designed to provide each individual student with an experience of artistic development, relevance and understanding for the importance of both co-operation and a sense of responsibility towards an ensemble. The degree course also provide the opportunity for self-reflection in terms of chosen specializations on the part of the individual student. Following a successful degree course, a student graduate should be capable of performances which are characterized by artistic merit, and an impression of artistic completion.
